Died on 27th June 2020 at his home in Derbyshire aged 61. Beloved son of Jean and the late Lionel. Brother of Jane Duchemin and Linda Parish and brother in-law of Philip and David. Uncle of Sam, Ben and Sofia. He will be greatly missed.

I met James in 1983. He had not long moved down to Derby from Glasgow. He was one of the technicians working on the Advanced Passenger Train and was relocated when the team was disbanded up there. We formed a new team at The Railway Technical Centre in London Road, and I got on well with James. He was keen, intelligent and well motivated. He taught me a lot about the industry. Ironically when he told me where he was from I had to ask him where Guernsey was on the map. Now I live in Jersey! James came to my stag night in Burton on Trent, in July 1984.
